Look at business writing differently

Good business writing requires us all to think a little differently.

Good writing is not complex and dense. It does not require someone to work hard to grasp the message. It should not require a dictionary.

It should sound like conversation: business people talking with business people. That can happen if you picture your reader (or primary reader) and write as if you were face-to-face with that person. If you would say something in a conversation, you can put it in writing.

This gives writing a clarity and simplicity few people achieve. It gets your message across. And most importantly, it helps you to achieve your purpose in writing.
